RMask Caller-ID Masking

RMask ensures valid caller-ID is presented and instills peace of mind when the phone rings -- not some random area code or "PRIVATE CALL".

What is RMask?

RMask is an easy-to-use service that keeps callers' personal numbers private while conducting business. The service masks the caller's number and instead broadcasts the associated district, school, or business number to the destination phone number.

This win-win solution allows the receiving party to see a familiar number and answer the call while protecting the sending party's privacy.

RMask does not require Rival5 ownership of desired numbers to display on outbound calls and the numbers can remain 'off-net'. Rival5 obtains permission from RMask customers to display the outgoing caller-ID of organizations before allowing outbound calls to complete.

The Communications Act of 1934 was amended by the Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009 to allow for this type of service as long as the calling party does not use the service with the intent to defraud or deceive the receiving party.

The Origin of RMask

RMask, Caller-ID Masking has been a standard feature of our RVoIP Mobile, Mobile Plus, Classroom, and Full Feature extensions for years. When remote learning and working was at an all-time high in early 2020, physical access to traditional phone systems and services was extremely limited.

In March of 2020 Rival5 offered a version of RMask for no cost to Illinois & Indiana school districts for four months to help alleviate communication issues at the end of the 2019 school year. This free service allowed all districts to stay in touch with their students, parents, staff, and community at the beginning of the Coronavirus Pandemic and throughout the summer -- totaling over 500,000 calls.

After receiving requests from all over the country to continue RMask as a stand-alone paid service for the 2020/2021 school year, we're here!!

We look forward to continue helping school districts, non-profits, and businesses stay in touch with their communities.
